How we arrive at a number
Karat is confirmed with an acid or electronic test in front of you. Weight goes on a certified scale you can read. The spot price comes off the live market that morning, and the offer is a percentage of melt that we will tell you before you commit. No back room, no "let me ask my manager."
If you would rather not sell outright, the same item can secure a loan instead — you keep ownership and get the cash. That is the difference between selling and pawning, and it is entirely your call.
Before you come in
- Bring a valid government photo ID. Virginia requires it on every transaction.
- Do not clean or polish anything — it does not raise the value and can damage a collectible.
- Bring the whole lot, including broken pieces and odd earrings.
- Boxes, papers and certificates raise the number on branded jewelry and watches.
